The Gift

You're the right to my wrong,
the resurrection of bliss
in my sometimes dark and
twisted reason.
I burn not a candle but a torch
illuminating the corners
and opening the chambers
of a once-dead hope.
I offer my dreams with
addictive rush,
the gift to the giver.
Tie me to you in love knots,
I want to drown in your ocean.
You've branded my soul
with your drug and I am
hallucinating heaven.

Sounds like love. Early love. I very much liked your Eclipse poem. A good tangle. Your pix are great with the poetry too. Wish there was more to say, but this is just a fan note. To the ocean...

Hi and thank you all for reading! @Smerica - I purchase most of my photos from stock photography services. It usually takes me much longer to find just the right image than it actually does to write the accompanying poem. But in my mind, the poem is not complete until I find the right image to illustrate it.

@Riley - I'm sorry to hear about your brother. Suicide is an act that leaves behind so much suffering and unanswered questions. It is a wound that never completely heals. But life does go on, it has to.

I checked out your blog and it looks like you have a beautiful family. Blessings to you and yours this Easter weekend.

Just surfed by - I love your writings.

I started my blog 5 years ago partly to process the loss of one of my best friends. Somehow, creating pruges some of the grief. At least for a while.

I'll be back again. Till then, wishing your heart peace.

Your poetry has moved me to tears, not out of pity. But out of the honesty & realness you encompass. Thank you for the humanity. You have truly inspired me and make me want to continue a journey of healing.

Always,
Eva Looshtion
